A Pedernales Falls State Park adventure
It's quite a trek to Johnson City from Marquez, but I wasn't going to pass up those epic views for anything! Weeks after scheduling our trip, we found out that the famed eclipse would be occurring and we were almost in the 'ring of fire' zone for viewing- what an awesome coincidence.
A few things to keep in mind when hiking a state park:
- dependable shoes are a must
- bug spray and/or sunscreen are helpful
- if you want to leave for lunch, you have to pay to re-enter the same day
